"By continuously trying to express her feelings in color, Alexandra Ramirez, creates and abundance of versatile artworks drawing from the rich history of the 20th-century art. The artist who works in painting, illustration, ready-made objects and screen-printing employs a clear and bright color palette and complex compositions to evoke the feeling of joyfulness among her audience. Regardless whether she paints a female portrait or creates an abstract representation of a sombrero there’s always a clear bond visible in her pieces, and a recognizable style that separates her works from those made by her fellow artists."
"Award winning artist Alexandra Ramirez gained her MA+BA in Painting from the National Art Academy, Sofia, BG and has since participated in numerous Solo and group shows in Bulgaria as well as in Germany. She creates striking, deformed canvases using a wide range of materials such as oil, acrylic and alkyd based spray paint. The deformation of the canvases evolved from being bored of the plain, regular, rectangular shaped canvases.
Alexandra Ramirez adds: "In fact nothing is square-framed, it is imperfect, with not-into-the-frames identity, casting luminosity, provoking, crazy, messy, rigorously illogical in going up and down. And absolutely real. I easily get inspired by what surrounds me considering the urbanity quite of the biggest feature – why do people do this, how people feel, the big city itself with its small stories to tell. I like bright and saturated colours, expressive line and a statement topics."
